Lung Disease

Lung disease are some of the most common medical condition worldwide. Organ lung is a complex organ, every day serves to carry oxygen and remove carbon dioxide. a disease that attacks the lungs may be the result of problems in any part of this system. Diseases of the lungs, greatly affects the airways from the trachea (windpipe), which branched into the bronchi, which in turn becomes smaller (alveoli) to the entire lung.

Lung disease can affect the airways. Diseased lungs are generally known in the community include asthma, COPD (Chronic Obstructive disease), bronchitis (acute and chronic), emphysema, cystic fibrosis, tuberculosis / tbc / tb, lung cancer, etc. Diseases of the lungs mentioned above depending on the organism and location of abnormalities / infection occurred.

The division of Lung Diseases

Here are many kinds of lung disease:

1. Lung Disease Affecting Lung alveoli

The alveoli are the last ramification that connects the bronchus to the lung. The type of lung disease which affects the alveoli include pneumonia (caused by a bacterial infection), tuberculosis (caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis), emphysema, pulmonary edema, lung cancer, acute respiratory distress syndrome, and pneumoconiosis.

2. Lung Disease Affecting interstitium

Interstitium is a layer, a microscopically thin smooth between the lungs and alveoli. Small blood vessels run through interstitium and allow the exchange of gases between the alveoli and blood. Various diseases of the lungs affecting the interstitium include interstitial lung disease, pneumonia, pulmonary edema, etc.

3. Diseases of the lungs that affects the pleura

The pleura is a thin layer that surrounds the lungs and lines the inside of the chest wall. Diseases that may arise in the pleura include pleural effusion, pneumothorax, and mesothelioma. Lung disease difference between pleural effusion and pneumothorax lies in what fills the pleural cavity, if the pleural cavity is filled by a liquid called pleural effusion, whereas if the pleural cavity filled with air called a pneumothorax.

4. Disease Affects lungs, chest wall

Chest wall also plays an important role in breathing. Muscles connecting the ribs with each other. Diaphragm down with each breath, also led to the expansion of the chest. Miscellaneous lung disease that can be caused in this category include obesity hypoventilation syndrome and Neuromuscular Disorders.
